The next Professional Lighting Designers Convention PLDC will take place in Berlin in October 2009.
The official announcement has been made at a PLDA board and Circle of Sponsors meeting in January 2008 in Berlin. Picking up on the success of the first PLDC in 2007, PLDC 2009 will continue to promote the recognition of the profession of architectural lighting design on an international scale.

The second Professional Lighting Design Convention PLDC will take place in Berlin in October 2009.After the overwhelming success of the first PLDC in London the next global convention for professional architectural lighting design PLDC will take place in Berlin from 29. – 31. October, 2009. PLDC is organised by VIA-Verlag, publisher of Professional Lighting Design magazine, and co-organised by the Professional Lighting Designers’ Association PLDA. Lighting Associations and universities with lighting design programme from around the world will get invited as further partners.
What does PLDC offer?
A three-day conference programme with around 70 speakers with high-profile papers, selected anonymously and democratically by an independent jury. A Call for Papers will be issued in mid-2008, the selected programme will be available in April 2009 at www.pld-c.com. PLDC 2007 has set a milestone in the process to establish Lighting Design as a profession and stands for everything that has been achieved for the profession so far, in as much as it is an indicator of future challenges. The dynamic development of the profession gives rise to a multitude of exceptional projects and research. PLDC will be the definitive platform for professional findings on an international level.

PLDC addresses a global audience, the first edition of the conference boasted participants from more than fifty countries. One of Europe‘s most vibrant and stimulating capitals, Berlin will contribute to the conventions’ captivating atmosphere. Berlin`s mixture of creative avant-garde, regained urbanity and a multi-faceted cultural scene offer the right dynamics for the next edition of the Professional Lighting Design Convention.
