Under nuclear threat

With their installation the anonymous art group Luzinterruptus aimed to capture people´s attention through light. The two artists behind the group come from different disciplines: Art and Photography. In 2008 they started with street art lighting. Since then they have been staging artistic interventions in public spaces using light to point to social and environmental deficits. With their mysterious army of 100 illuminated radioactive figures advancing threateningly on the natural environment of the festival, Luzinterruptus wanted to invite reflection about the use and abuse of nuclear energy, cheap in economic terms, but which can give rise to grave irreversible secondary effects on the environment and all life forms.
