VIA Sweden is a sister company to VIA-Verlag (VIA Publishing) and thus also dedicated to spreading knowledge about light and lighting.

Whereas VIA-Verlag publishes the Professional Lighting Design magazine (PLD) plus other scientific booklets, Project Reports and the Professional Lighting Design Convention (PLDC) Proceedings, VIA Sweden supports the company’s educational programme and initiatives.

A large number of the educational activities currently under development in VIA-Verlag will be staged in the old museum building, Alströmerska Magasinet, in Alingsås/S, where the VIA Sweden team have at their disposal a series of interesting and exciting spaces in which to stage seminars, lectures, exhibitions and other educational events. In the past the building served as a store, was used as a dairy, and then as a museum and archive of the history of the town. 

 In line with the quality of the PLD  magazine and the PLDC convention,
VIA Sweden will develop and offer educational concepts and programmes of exceptional quality dedicated to furthering knowledge of architectural lighting design, lighting technology, lighting trends and professional issues.

The seminars and courses taught by lighting educators and qualified
professionals will be suitable for recommendation as Continuing Professional Development for lighting designers and architects who wish to, or are expected to, maintain a high level of expertise to be acknowledged as professionals in their field.

The VIA team disposes over a global network of leading experts in lighting, lighting design and lighting technology and has an expansive and growing database of the lighting community.
